So I pulled off the egr pod from my super six donor today with thoughts of building a block off. I was thinking that since it is a 5/8" steel flange, would it make sense to drill out the rivets from the pod and weld up the two larger holes so you could just replace the base (that has a good contoured look) with the factory gasket? Or is it just better to find a proper block off?

Its easy to make a blockoff.....my Super 6 manifold was so clogged with crap that I didnt need to do anything. I just filed the crap flush with the manifold....been that way for years.

Mine was the same. I just thought that it would look like it was meant to be there if I just ditched the pod. If the factory block off is nearly as thick as the original then that would probably be best. Otherwise I will have to shim the nuts to accommodate the long studs. I'm fairly certain those studs will not turn out.

Does the one barrel 225 manifold use the same EGR block-off plate as the 2bbl. Super Six manifold? Thanks!

There is no difference in EGR mounting (therefore in EGR blockoff details) between 1bbl and 2bbl intakes.
