I'm sure SSDan will be able to hadle this one with a flick of his pinkey finger, but I can't seem to find the answer an neither can my parts stores. I have a Carter 2425 that i need to rebuild and the parts listing jumps from 2424 to 2428. Can't find any other cross refrence. Is there a "blanket" kit that will cover my carb, or a specific kit. It looks like I'll have to go through Napa for this one, maybe carquest. Thanks

Where are you finding the 2425 number? If it's cast into the carburetor itself, it is not the carburetor number. The carb number was originally on a triangular aluminum tag secured under one of the bowl screws. They frequently get left off over the years.

Now that you mention it, my Carter also has that same casting, probably the same number. I can't read the numbers, but they are cast into the passenger side of the air horn.

There aren't any numbers stamped or cast anywhere on the carb itself that will positively ID it. If the tag's gone, the number's gone. It'd be nice if Carter had stamped their numbers into the carb, as Holley and Stromberg did, but they didn't request my vote before deciding on the separate-tag approach.

A few clear, sharp photos of your carb from multiple angles ought to provide enough info to point you to the right kit.
