How do I get my steering box off of the steering column. 1974 satellite.. front suspension disassembled. K member removed so easy access to it. disconnected the hoses, but I though the box would just slide off of the the steering column end. When I pull it apart should the rectangular shaped coupler come off on the steering box or stay attatched to the coulumn ?? I see a large (5/16" or 3/8") roll pin in this coupler, do I need to drive it out ?? thanks so much.. dave

Yup, you need to drive out the roll pin from the coupler before attempting to pull the column apart from the steering box. The coupler will stay with the column. It's good to pry the coupler rearward (up the steering column, away from the steering box) after driving the pin out. That way you minimise the risk of pulling apart the coupler.
