I finally found a super 2 manifold. It was in a junk pile at a local boneyard-been laying out in the weather for many years. The intake is ok, but the exhaust won't survive. This setup had a BBD carb on it that looked to be in terrible shape, and I was going to throw it away. SInce the weather here has turned bad, I decided to take a look at the carb. After I FINALLY got it apart, it is clean as a pin inside and I have everything cleaned up in good shape. Quite a surprise to me. Now I need to find out the approx. year it was used, if possible. The only #s on the carb are 0- 2425 under the Carter logo. It has the pcv port, and a port for the choke pull-off. The only other port on the other side looks like a vacuum advance port. Definately older than my 85 truck, whick has about a dozen holes in it. Is there any way to pin down the appeox year on this carb? Sorry for such a long post, and thanks in advance for any help.

Those casting numbers won't help ID the carb, but if you post some good, clear pictures, we can probably get you fairly close by visual ID.

Place the top on it without the gasket and check for flatness and gapping. The tops warp. I flattened one with a table top belt sander in about 40 seconds. Probably do it on a flat surface with some grit paper.
