How is the dash physically grounded? Through the firewall? By a wire or by weld? The lights in the cab are very dim, but brighten up considerably when the engine is started. I also notice the lights behind the gauges are very weak. I suspect grounding issues. I will run separate wire to th e places that need them if I know all the places that might loose their ground over time and rust.

TIA

The dash is bolted, metal on metal (with some paint?) to the bulkheads above the door hinges, and via the pedal assembly to the firewall.
