Sitting at work this morning and I don't have my FSM with me. Would you tell me the direction, clockwise or counter-clockwise I will encounter:

1. The vibration dampner on a /6 will turn ________ when the engine is running.

2. The rotor in a slant six distributor will turn _______ when the engine is running.

3. When you insert a distributor into the block the rotor will turn _______ as the distributor meshes with the gears.

I don't have my shop manual in front of me either, so I best not answer your questions for you. I kind of think I know, but this is something I have learned the hard way to look up now. But, don't ever hesitate to ask what you think will be perceived as a dumb question. If I did that I would be pretty silent here on the forum. Ask away. There may be someone else too proud or shy to ask the same qeustion. There will be someone here who not only knows, but will be very happy to share his knowledge. That is the function of the forum.

I can relate to the feeling of being an old guy who needs his meds. Especially since I gave up coffee. Things I used to know from absolute and confident memory I now feel like I must leave to the younger mind set. There is alot of good that has accumulated in your mind over the years, which far outweighs the facts that are now just out of reach.
