I have a 63 Dart, and it needs new front tires. I will be running 14X7 slot mags. What size tires should I run. Is a 185 70 14 too narrow for a 7 inch rim? If so, what should I get?

I'd get 205/70 14

I have 235 60 14 in the back. I want the skinniest I can in the front without any tire wear problems.

Then you need to get a narrower wheel. I wouldn't run anything skinnier than a 195 section on a 7" wheel. 6" slotted mags are all over the place.

If you are looking for a drag wheel/tire or a cruise night look....thats one thing....do whatever......or swap them on for the event.

But if you drive hard on real roads, wet roads, snowy roads.... you will soon discover what it is to "plow"......

whats wrong with the 7"slots 235s front and rear look?

Too wide for me in the front. I want sort of a street/strip look. I'll probably go with 205 65 14 in the front and 225 60 14 in the back. I have 235s in the back now, but they are too wide a rub a little, even with the fender lips rolled over.

Don't forget that the same tire on a wider rim will be wider than if it was on a narrower rim (.2" tire width change per .5" rim change)

and

tire widths vary form manufacturer to manufacturer.

Tirerack has specs on the various tires
