Ever there was one that engine have a long runner (say 9"-12" long) manifold at head higher than the carb itself?

Cheers, Wizard

To clarify:

Carb sits on the modified plenum with runners going up so,
runners goes uphill at a slope then bend over towards head.

If I didn't do so, just flat manifold, the down draft carb atop that would hit the hood.
And I'm not sure of updraft weber and I'm really tired to check my book till I get sleep in.

Cheers, Wizard

There are no 'mass produced' SL6 manifolds that are like that.
Over the years i have 'made' hood to carb clearance my dropping the engine down lower into the chassis and tilting it to the driver's side a little.

The long-ram big-block V8s in early '60s Chryslers had runners that swept up and over the valve cover before sweeping down across the valley to the head on the opposite side of the engine...

Uphill flow on carbureted manifolds isn't ideal; any liquid fuel that drops out ends up puddled on the plenum floor. If you need hood clearance, I'd say either go with a side draft manifold instead - I'd imagine an SU or three DCOE setup would be a bit flatter.

Good points, reason I put this post in other topic as I'm talking in GENERAL.
not just for Slant. I'm bouncing off from your throughts on exploring carbed hybrid DOHC 2.2/2.5.

Ideally, one progressive two barrel side draft feeding one plenum or two smaller plenums fed seperately from each barrel of two barrel like DCOE but have 3/8" tube connecting both plenums so I have main smooth vacuum for the brake booster and other items also for the distributor or MAP for electronic ignition control.
