Here it is. 63 Dart.

Now the question is: Should I paint the hood green like the rest of the car, or should I paint it Semi-gloss black?

Paint it green like the rest of the car. Blackout hoods were a brief fad in the late '60s and early '70s. Depending on taste they might look OK on cars of that era, but generally this kind of era-specific styling fad looks cheesy (at best) on a car from a different era. "Opera windows" and padded vinyl half-roofs and landau bars on the C-pillar looked (arguably) OK on mid-'70s Lincolns, but they look ridiculous and ugly when applied to current models. There are many other such examples. Obviously it's your car, so you get to paint it however you wish, but if I were to see a '63 Dart with a blacked-out hood, my reaction would be "H'm, wonder when they're going to get around to finishing the paint job."

I second the motion to paint it green.

(I had a feeling you were talking about your '63 when you asked about what kind of paint was used in yesterday's thread)

I'd be more partial to the AAR Cuda style than the Maverick stripe but I'm also not a huge fan of the early seventies high impact colors on early Mopars.

I'm going to stick with green. The way I see it, I think on this car it might look like I had to replace the hood at some point after paint. So, yeah, I'll go with green.

It will be a while. I'm still doing bodywork, and now I'm in the doors/quarters where there's a lot of rust.
