I own a 1970 Plymouth Duster, with a 225 Slant Six. I have hopped up the engine by Boreing it .030" over, Decking the head .075", Put a High Energy Cam down the middle, Put HEI ignition on it w/ a Mopar Orange Box, a 500 cfm edelbrock four barrell carb, Clifford for barell intake, Clifford dual headers, and dual exhaust.
I am in the process of gettig a 7 3/4 rear end with 3:2 gears for it, and I am wondering if there was anything else you guys would suggest for me to do to the litte side winder to get some more horsepower out of it?
my compression ratio is 9.5:1, and I am worried that I might have too much carb. I want it to be street/strip, I have about 1,000 dollar budget, I want to run 13's, and improve my low end power. I don't want to do Nitrous though.

Thanks,

Jake Gray

What are the "numbers" on that cam? How was it installed? (installed centerline)

What size valves are in the head? How much "porting work" was done?

What tranny are you using? If an Auto, what is the converter's size and stall speed?

A well-planned tire / rear-end gear ratio is needed, you will need a posi (sure grip)and a 7 1/4 will not live long behind a 13 sec. Slant.

Do you know what the distributor's advance curve "looks like"?(rate & total)
What size jet / rods are in that carb.?
Give us some additional info. and we will go from there. Note that a 13 sec. Slant car is going to be mostly a "race car" not a "street car" in terms of drivability and "manners"
