Post subject:  oil pan question

OK, so today I got the 68 225 out of the Coronet, and into the engine compartment of the 62 Valiant. It looks like the oil pan hump id to far forward to drop into the right spot......I have a engine from a 63 valiant if I need to swap pans......does anyone know for sure if I will need to swap pans? I had to clean up to get my wife......so I didnt have time to locate the trans into place to see if it needs to go back further..but I did have the head really close to the fire wall.
Thanks.....Andrew/Kidd

Yes, you need a 60 - 66 oil pan and pick-up tube.
The sump on a 67 -76 pan is to far forward.
The only other pan that can be made to work is the 77 and up F-Body "small sump" pan but that one needs some dents to clear the steering's center link.
