Are the shock mounts on an 8 1/4" rear interchangeable with those on a 7 1/4" rear? The ones on my new 8 1/4" have the studs busted off, so They're NFG to me.

Thanks in advance,

Nat

I just had a set of each of these in my hands while cleaning up my shed, and the answer is no, the 7.25" is a bit skinny compared to the 8.25"... the proper shock plates are interchangeable with the 8.75" rear...

DI is correct. The 7 1/4 uses 2 1/2" axle tubes but the 8 1/4 and 8 3/4 use 3" axle tubes.

Aside from the junkyard, where can I get a new set for my 8 1/4 rear? I'm having the same problem finding these parts as I am with the parking brake lever and strut.

Thanks for your replies,

Nat
