hey there is a huge number of darts, valinets and A bodys in portland oregon. infact i see prolly 2 to 4 a day during my normal driving.

i would like to arrange a get together once a month or so, where we can all hang out, swap info and have fun.

if anyone in portland is cool with this please post or p/m me.

thanks!

Yeah, there are still lots of them in the SE section of town... I drove through a buddy's neighborhood one day and said I'll bet we see one old mopar per block between Powell and his street... sure enough we passed driveways and streets that had either a Dart, Valiant, Newport, Belvedere, or A-body Barracuda... He thought I had gone nuts...

I will probably put together a BBQ this summer so the PDX crowd and the Eugene area have a fairly equal drive to meet up (and my place isn't too far from I-5...), I'll post that later... in the past during the Roberson's 'Show and Shine we used to do it, but things got a bit busy here recently...

FYI,

thanks for your reply dusteridiot! and yes its insane the amount of A bodys in south east and north east! most of them are in poor to insanly bad cond. but there out there .... somewhere.

i also put on 3 huge partys in the summer, all slanters all welcome.

only problem is i get 4 kegs from bridgeport brewery for each party.so i would reccomend a camp out in my huge yard or hotels. cause friends dont let friends slant and drink.

cheers!

neil

I live in Vancouver, I'm down to drink beers and tool around... (Maybe not in that order, but no promises)

I think my Dart is the 2 door version of yours. It 's a green 73 also... For some reason, I could be wrong, it seems like the greenies survive longer... I see either dark green or light green darts/valiants around all the time.

If you ever want to go to the junkyard, I know one that has a pretty decent group of slants to pick from, although I haven't been there in a while... They got a Demon too and a couple Barracuda's, I even saw some good glass for the Cuda fastback...

I missed DI's last spring BBQ when I got a little careless with the hose while washing the car.... soaked my dist and couldn't even get out of town... Looking forward to some get together's this year.

I will deifintley be on for doing something over the summer. I know DusterIdiot tried to get something together I wasn't able to make. But I would do something in the first two weekends of April. Who's going to be hittin' Woodburn this summer? I'm going to try a couple Fridays before the Mopar show. I got a roomate who talks alot about his 4.0L Ranger that should be a fun race!

I'm hoping to get up to the Friday test & tunes at Woodburn. Someday I'd like to be able to cut consistent lights!

DusterIdiot is the Master of the Bar'B'Que!

Give me a call Rob, I'll go in on supplies for a Slant Sixer's Bar'B'Que this year! That's a fun time!

DI's house is right off the I-5.

DI- If you have another spring bbq, I'll throw in on food too.

Midi- Book online with Red Lion and use the code, "FFR" to get a HUGE discount on pretty nice rooms.

Funny thing happened a few days back... my dad upgraded to a 'huge' BBQ with all the stainless stuff... so he brings over his 2 year old char-broil BBQ, and it's twice the size of my old grill....

I guess that means we'll have to have a larger party, eh?

I guess we could arrange some Hyperpak Cab service, as long as you don't have to utilize the 'purge' port....

kick arse DI, it's great to have a bigger better BBQ!

one of my neighbors gave me a huge webber grill and the tools to go with it. before i had some junky tiny one that could only do 2 steaks. now i can do 3 whole salmons and a few steaks!

no purge port! i'm solid. plus we will be so busy talking slants & a bodys
that i will prolly have a "slant" six pack or less.

thx for that code SwingLo73 i'll check it out.

anyways cheers and have a great weekend guys!

I want to chip in here and ask a favor. I make a trip to Oregon just about every summer. Last year I timed it to coincide with the second Medford race. If you'll give me as much notice ahead of time as possible I'd like to crash this party.

Welcome aboard Cudaboy!

The BBQ hasn't happened yet for this year, so your in good shape!

I might have to break the BBQ out this weekend for the R&R-fest going on at my place. MiDi and I should be able to get my engine and tranny installed Saturday.

Anybody else coming over to lend a hand? :D

CJ

Hi Cudaboy! Welcome to your new obsession.. :)

Ceej, sounds fun, I'll give you a call depending on what's going on over here (between my homework and what the group of slant six hooligans I like to call friends have been working on, things may be hectic).
Although who knows.. I might just sit on my porch and enjoy a beer and the sun. 8) Supposed to hit 75 tomorrow!
