I have a 74 dart with a 225, the car currently has a chrome valve cover on it, i want to replace it with a stock valve cover. I got one from a 67 dart at the junkyard, wondering if i can use it. The reason i ask is that it only has 2 holes in it, one for the oil that has a stack and one for the pcv. the original one had 3 holes in it (one for oil, one for pcv, one for breather that hooks to air cleaner).

Yes you just pore the oil down the same hole that has the breather on the tube/stack ( after pulling out the breather cap that goes to the carb breather) I think I said all this right.

Yes, that'a correct. The breather tube doubles as a fill port. It should work just fine.

My question is, on the current setup, the breather vents into the air cleaner, this valve cover would not do that, will that have adverse effects?

No it allows air into the engine. Just use a cap with a good filter. I use a K&N for mine but there allot of other good choices.

You can go to Vatozone or Poop Boys and get a chrome push-in filler/breather for about $10. I believe they also have the new grommets there too.
