Is transmission fliud a good alternative to honing oil? If so does it matter what grade? You know, atf, mercon, dextron, and type f. Besides tranny fluid, what else is acceptable? Thanks-Dart68 |

Do you mean for honing the engine cylinders? If so, then yes I have used it for years. I use whatever grade I have around or is cheapest at the parts store. For brake cylinders I only use brake fluid. TopHat |

3 in1 oil works pretty good, And I have even used Kerosene. You really dont want something that is to slippery, you want it to cut, but clean out the stone as its cutting, but without gaulding. Jess |
