Hello everyone,
I'm looking through the available information trying to decide on parts for my fuel injection conversion. I know that Clifford's water cooled intake has injector bosses (you can see them in the picture in the catalog), but I haven't been able to find any information to confirm or deny the presence of injector bosses on the non-heated intake. For those of you who have the non-heated intake, does it have injector bosses?

I would prefer to use a non-heated intake to get the coldest possible air charge to the cylinders. The manifold no longer has to carry fuel, so pooling/lack of vaporization won't be a problem. Also, I may scrap the idea of getting a manifold with cast-in injector bosses, and modify a hyperpak instead. I'm looking to make this slant scoot!

Thanks again. Your help is greatly appreciated.

I have a non-heated Clifford and it does not have the bosses in it. I also have a heated one, and it does. Dennis

Thanks for the info, Dennis. That's kinda what I figured, but I was hoping that it wasn't the case. I guess it's time for decisions: buy a non-heated Clifford and have to modify it, spend $50 more for a water heated Clifford and not have to modify it, or spend $370 more for a Hyper-Pak and still have to modify it. If the Hyper-Pak wasn't so spendy, the decision would be easy...

The Clifford hyper-pak has the bosses you are referring to if that helps with your decision making. Darrin

Mike,

The Clif hyperpack intake does NOT have the 45 degree ramp bosses, but has some smaller, donut-shaped ones. The Clifford WH AND non-WH intakes both have the nice 45 degree bosses, as long as they were made less than about 5 years ago. I have a non-WH one on my '64 Dart that I bought in '96 and it has them. All older (5+ years) Clifford manifolds I've seen do not have the bosses.

An interesting note, though, if you get the WH manifold and EFI you may be able to run some cooled air (or something else) through the jacket to cool the air coming in. Just a thought...

Lou
