Another successful SL6 Race at Las Vegas is "in the bag"....

We had 9 cars make the call for Sunday's points race. There was one more SL6 car running for Saturday's time runs but he had to leave before the Sunday race.

Fopar is our winner and he is $500.00 richer, CJ is the runner-up and he got $250 for his efforts.

A real fun group this year and we did our usual "after hours" program, with Friday night dinner at Jerry's Nugget and Saturday night at the Main Street Station buffet... then off the Fremont street for the light show and xyz...

More good stories to tell and I saw lots of people taking photos so please share them here if you have some images.

Holy Cow! Tristan and I misplaced Fopar in front of the Cannery on Craig street. We milled about smartly for about an hour, driving up side roads and various parking lots.

Fopar found his way home late last night, so must have stopped for a longer nap and got behind me again for the final few miles.

I stopped at Wicked/Six's place yesterday at about 5 AM. I was back on the road after a two hour nap. The Valiant started blowing oil on the five, so I was making oil check stops every hundred miles or so from Redding on. I dropped down into Sacramento to chase warm weather. My heater keeps the carpet warm under the dash.
It looks like a leak coupled with lots of blow-by. (This engine is coming up on 300k miles.)

So to the stories!

This guy figured out how to get another test pass in by changing his window chalk a little bit!

It took them a while to pry the big check out of his fingers!

Way to go Richard!

Here's a link to my time slips. Perhaps our SSRN contacts can provide these pics to Seymore, or I can forward the PDF version I made for them.

If you would like a different format with higher resolution for Seymore, I can send it to an Email. Just PM me with it! :D

Too bad it was cloudy and windy on Sunday, we even felt a few rain drops but the ground never got wet.

The trip south was going along splendidly.
Fopar and I pulled into Medford for our first fuel stop. When I stepped on the brake it went most of the way to the floor. My new front disks stopped the car, but something was clearly wrong.

The front reservoir was empty. On closer inspection, it became apparent that the driver's side wheel cylinder had let go. It wasn't leaking fast, just leaking. I topped off the brake fluid and we motored on to Reno, stopping periodically to keep the brake fluid topped up.

Upon arrival in Vegas, I found an Autozone close to our hotel and picked up parts. Andrew, "Kidd," tore into my brakes while I assisted Richard, "Fopar," with his gear swap.

Andrew got everything fixed up, and I went through tech.

The following morning I looked at the car, and the passenger's side rear tire is sitting in brake piddle! Dang it!

I picked up another wheel cylinder at the Autozone, along with some other supplies for such an evolution, and putted back to the track.

Andrew jumped in there again and repaired the leaky brake. He got everything hosed out, and the brakes worked well! :D

So my hat's off to Andrew for all the help!

Come up with Jessica for that visit! We have Bar'B'Que weather now!
