I have a leak in the hard fuel line that goes from back (fuel tank) to front (fuel pump) on my 1973 Dart Swinger. I know that there is a choice between a 5/16 and a 3/8 size line. I'm trying to id the size of the line so I can order the right one. A few questions:

1) Does anyone know what size it might be (3/8 or 5/16)?

2) If I am measuring the line, do I measure the outside or inside diameter of the line to determine what size I need?

3) I was looking at paddock.com to order some pre-bent fuel lines...any comments or suggestions on their product?

Thanks

I could be mistaken, but I believe all the fuel lines on A bodies were 5/16". All my various a-bodies have been that size, in any case. I've had /6 to 400s in them and never had a 'fuel starvation' problem with 5/16" line.

I did a google search for pre-bent lines and found several sources for them for these cars....I have never ordered anything from the paddock, some people really like them.

Inline Tube seems to make the best stuff if you're looking for pre-bent lines. 5/16" is factory for most everything except high performance big block cars.

5/16" is correct for your car. Only a giant engine or one with extreme forced induction would require 3/8".

Excellent, thanks for the info. Just what I was looking for. I'll check out Inline Tube.
