Building up a 225 using a Hughes solid lifter cam (107 Centerline, 441 Lift, and 224 Duration @.050 tappet Lift). Hughes says to set the Intake Cold Lash at .015 & Exhaust Cold at .018. Intake hot lash at .018 and Exhaust hot lash at .020. Sounds a little loose to me. Any comments on these settings appreciated.

.020 is about right, that is where all the stock cams "lash" at. You have to start somewhere and the cam maker's recommended setting is a good place to start. Get it running and "tweek it" from there.
