And if you tell us all about your car, plans for the car, budget, etc we can suggest an appropriate cam. Overcamming an engine stinks more than a slightly too small cam though.

Welcome to the Forum!

I ran like that for a while. To really get a benefit from the 4bbl you will want to bump your compression up a bit.
Do you know where you are now? If it's stock your going to be in the 7.5 to 8:1 range.

To "Know" you'll need to pull the head, cc the chambers, and find where your pistons sit in the block at TDC.

Once you have that info, there are some folks on the board here that can help you compute what you need to do.

Other helpful information is: What transmission you have, your rear end ratio, and if you have an automatic, what the converter stall is.

Then it's up to you to determine how you want to use the car.

You can always regrind the one you have in the engine now. It cost me $35.00 to have mine done.

You might like the Erson 270 cam however, like Ceej said, get some more compression first so you can wake up that engine. I am running a near stock cam that I had reground to 254 duration and .435 lift and with 9.5 to 1 compression it really woke up and scoots. I love to drive my car and it really performs and still gets good mileage.
