The target vehicles: '71 Dart is the vehicle needing the new power steering. '74 Valiant is the donor. The pitman arm is different. It comes up from the bottom with the retaining nut on top of the center link in the '71. The spline size on the '71 is smaller for the pitman arm. The '71 pitman arm will not install on the '74 box. Now we are looking at using the pump from the '74 with the '71 box. It looks like it will work. The '71 pump has the Round shaped reservoir, while the '74 has the taller tapered reservoir. We have brackets for both installations. Any thoughts? CJ |

If the '71 steering box is good then use it with the rest of the parts from the '74. Otherwise you can swap in the '74 steering box if you use the '74's center link. |
