Am I the only Idiot that this has happened to??

Here it is - I was changing my 833 In the Dart to a different box. (man I need to get a T-5) Anyway.. I am putting the Next box in and It Seems a bit Funny to get into the Bell housing.. I checked everything and it seems good.. But still dosent feel right. I tighten it down anyway.

I get the Car all buttoned up, off the Jackstands and the Clutch pedal feels funny.. It works but feels funny. I start to maneuver it out of the garage and Wham Clutch pedal to the floor and Now I have no Clutch.. (*#*Q&*()) So I pull the Inspection cover off and the TOB was sort of pushed off the Clutch fork.. After fiddling around with it I got the TOB Back on the fork correctly to restore correct clutch engagement / Disengagement. (Phewww!) I was able to Put the TOB back on with out taking the tranny out which is nice.

So has this happened to anyone else??

Greg

I had that happen when I was overhaulin' the duster... I was warming it up and giving it some revs and 'BAM' the clutch pedal felt funny and the car engaged... after getting things back together (getting that fork back on there right in the tight bell is NOT fun, for us meat fisted salad stirrers...). Post mortem on that looked like the fork rod was out of alignment... found my spare rod and things went right back to normal...

Yipes!

Nice,

Well I dont have a "spare Rod" in this case as The one I am using is a 1964 Early 4 Speed Rod on the Piviot and TOB end and I cut the Part off where the original Clutch adjustment Part threaded into and welded on the 1969-up Style End on it.. It works well with no problems when the TOB is actually on it. :D
