I'm looking into rebuilding my front suspension, and would like to install the 73+ UCAs I have so when I eventually switch to front disc brakes it's one less thing to do. Will they (and the larger ball joints associated) fit with the rest of the components I have - 9" drum setup? Or would I have to switch out more than the upper ball joints?

Sorry, but you're stuck with the small upper ball joint control arms until you swap to the '73 and newer spindles. The larger upper ball joint has a larger mounting hole and a larger stud.

I was afraid of that. Do you think it would be possible to fabricate/modify things so I could use the larger ones? I don't have a clear picture of the parts in my head so I can't really see whether it'd be possible or not.
The reason I'm tryin to pursue this idea is that the ball joints for the 73+ UCAs are actually more inexpensive than the stock ones for my 65, so the ESPO kit's price would drop considerably. :D

Well, if there is enough meat in your spindles you could try my tapered reamer and make the upper ball joint stud hole larger. I'd rather find you some spindles and rotors for the disc swap though. Don't spend any money just yet.

I would seriously amass all the 73+ brake parts and spindles before going halfway. Is your current susp really shot?? Don't trust the word of a shop. They have even tried to rip me off on this, after I've told them I did all the mech work on the car.
