Does the mopar electronic ignition kit require a different coil than the stock one? This is for a 72 Dart. I put in the old points distributor and it runs a lot better.

Mopar called-out a different p/n for the coils used with the electronic ignition, I do not know what was different about these.
I have changed a number points ign. cars over to the electronic ign. system without changing coils and they ran fine. I have one of those cars today and it still running on the original coil. (8 years now)
I guess it would be a good experiment to put a "better" coil onto it to see if it runs any better.
