Dave M. and I have been talking with Hilborn about doing a "special run" of their
Slant Six Fuel Injection manifolds.
Well after letters, phone calls, etc, we have a Hilborn Engineer wanting to "count heads" to see how much interest there is.

NOW IS THE TIME to send Hilborn an email, a letter, a FAX or a phone call if you have ANY interest in getting your hands on one of these special set-ups. I expect a fully machined casting with butterflys, linkage etc. to be around $1,000.00 but I hope to talk them into selling some raw castings or semi-machined for less. (EFI anyone?)

If we get some email activity going, I think we can get this project to go. Here is my latest "string" of emails to read through. Their FAX # is 1-949-360-0909
Address is : Hilborn 22892 Glenwood Dr. Aliso Viejo, CA 92656
email to: <A HREF="mailto:sales@hilborninjection.com">sales@hilborninjection.com</A>

This looks like a "now or never" deal so help out and send Hilborn something if you have any interest at all. There is a PIC of a modular "4 runner" Hilborn system at the end of all this, just to get a better idea of what we are working on here. (our SL6 set-up will be a single manifold with 6 "tubes". Here is the email: (reverse order of course)

Boy, Hilborn sounds interesting! I don't think I have spent more than a $1,000 on entire slant six car. A co-worker bought his new $80,000 Viper to work today, I'm saving for my Ferrari :)

Need some pics, I am not interested in a full race EFI, but want a custom look for a 'driver. but I suppose the runner size and length for fuel injection is not as critical as with a carb, I want good low and mid-range torque, and don't like the look of an adapted carb manifold. I got my set of long slant rods today!

The Hilborn name has a better sound to it than "home brew". I thought that if I got a TIG welder I could fab up a custom alloy fuel injection manifold.

I have a good friend that had the same idea. He had alot more than $1000 by the time he was done. The first time down the track and all the different types of aluminum alloy heated up his throttle stuck wide open at 7000 rpm. The casting from Hilborn is one solid piece and will heat and cool at the same rate. I guess that's why Hilborn has been around for so long. Also with this manifold you can run any type of fuel.

Hey Everybody,

I'm still searching the web...does anybody have links to good information about Hilborn injection, or can somebody describe the system? I know nothing about it. Is this kind of system OK for everyday street driving?

Patrick This is not really a street injection system. It's mainly for racing,I do have some friends that use this on their "street" car but it's not practical. They lower their fuel pressure so the nozzels pump less fuel into the ports. You can do it but it's lots of work. I want to purchase a manifold because this might be the last time they ever reproduce them, again for the next 40 years. By that time I won't be needing one ! In Doug's first message thier is a address to click on for Hillborn.
