Fellow recurvers,

Here is a link to someone else's tale of the search for right advane. His story is so similar to ours it is fun to read, even if he is an early pontiac guy.

After some years of trying I lucked into TWO Sun machines so I will be giving them tryouts and seeing how they match my dialback. Probably keep one and sell one.

Rock,

It would really be nice to verify the results of the changes that quickly. Good web article, right on!

It is almost what I experienced with my 1974 15R governor. Very low mechanical timing for three reasons, weights stuck because of old grease, stiff springs that wouldn't budge and sloppy fitting springs allowing the weights to stay partially extended. As a result I was only getting 10 degrees mechanical timing. Very ironic for having a governor with long slots.

I have done one change at a time and kept a log book of each change. A sun machine would make for pretty quick setups. I think allot of SL6's out there suffer from this problem. Especially if folks never oil the wick under the rotor to help keep things working or clean out the 30 year old grease that has gone hard.
I think that is why I can light up the tires with a 2.76 posi. It really brings life to the engine and helps the torque output. :D
Just over 40,000 since the engine rebuild. I hope the timing chain doesn't stretch out in the near future. It is just too much fun to drive.!
