I have a new trans that I'd like to put in my dart. I located the stamping on the pan rail and decoded what I could.

The numbers are PK4028463X 5183 7281

The first portion decodes as 76/77 Dart, Aspen, Volare, Dodge, Plymouth

Not too sure where to find out what the second and third sets of numbers mean. I was told this tranny came out of a van (the motor I got with it definitely did, but they weren't attached when I picked them up, so who knows?)

I'm trying to determine if the tranny has the granny low gear (which would be good with my 2.45:1 rear, but might not be so hot with my planned 3.23 swap ) Any thoughts?

The 2nd and 3rd groups of numbers aren't meaningful. If your decode of the first 7 digits is accurate, then this transmission has the regular 2.45 / 1.45 / 1.00 gear ratios, not the lower 2.74 / 1.54 / 1.00 ratios that started in '80.
