The logo looks a little like GP Sorensen (same font and coloring)

Wonder if there's some relationship there.......

That's from an aftermarket electronic ignition retrofit kit like this one. I see them go across eBay every once in awhile, and I saw one installed on a slant-6 car years ago in a wrecking yard. Used an optical trigger mounted in place of the breaker points and consisting of an infrared LED (like in a TV remote control) and IR receiver mounted over and under each other with a shutter wheel passing through the gap between the emitter and receiver. The shutter wheel was fitted over the distributor's breaker point cam and there was one window in the shutter wheel per cylinder.

Kits like this were marketed by many companies. BorgWarner comes to mind, but there were a lot of names.

Good question. I don't know whether the aftermarket box is the same as the 5-pin Mopar box, or just looks the same.

It would only take a few minutes to hook up and find out if it works......The optical trigger sounds just like the Mallory Unilite, but that unit is pretty much self contained.
