I have a 66 valiant with a 225 engine and air cond.

What was the correct amp alternator for this car. I cannot find the specs anywhere.

30 amps, give or take 5, depending on how the vehicle was specced. A 40A unit was optional but not often ordered that early. You're wise to research this; you need to be careful when buying an alternator today. See the later paragraphs in this post.
