I did a group machining buy 3 yrs ago to put an adapter plate on a slant 6 OD bellhousing. 17 BH's were modified with the plate to mount a T5. I would post on "Parts Wanted" that you are looking for one. $300 would be a decent price for the complete bell. $350 was probably invested on each one. I have a T5 in my '64 Dart and about 5-7 other guys have done this so far. Lou |

No that's a good call, I have a truck bell I need to figure out whether I am going A-833OD or T-5 on... after comparing all the T-5 data it looks like the mustang 5.0 has a good gear spread with OD to run 3.91/4.11 gearing without going to too granny on the 1st gear....-D.idiot |

the only reason i am thinking t-5 is i have 2 ----one from a mid 80's v6 s-10 and one from a 4 cyl ---the v6 only had 1500 miles on it taken from a wreck ---dont know the ratios yet but i can research them on a web site called www.inliners.org ---you need the id tag from the trans and it gives all the ratios ---------the t-5 has the same bolt pattern as any chevy 3 or 4 speed so there should be a adaptor out there someware for a chevy 3 or 4 speed ---the onlt issue i see is clutch because the t-5 has a different spline count ---probably need to have a clutch custom made . clutch linkage will not be a problem because i will use a hyd slave cyl setup or possibly a hyd throw out bearing if enough room in bellhousing -----the trans should be stout enough for the slant 6 torque output --- i dont expect to pound on it regurarly ---just have to watch the hole shots and power shifting ----the s-10 trans also has a more desireable shifter location for my application as it is directly behind the gear box as opposed to the more common rear tailshaft location . ----good luck on your project and thanks -------greg |

the shifter pad location on the s10 5 speeds is gonna be too far forward if this is going in an A body mopar. S10 tranny's do work good in street/hot rods though. the input shaft on the mustang tranny is also longer making it easier to reach the pilot bearing. |

check the trans mounting pad. i know the camaros and firebirds were machined at a 15* angle to help with shifter angle. i don't know if they did it with the trucks as well. zedpapa |
