How can i tell if my car has a 904 or 727 tranny? It is not original to the car. Is there an id number on the transmission or something?

Car Model: 1964 Plymouth Valiant V200 Sedan
Look at the pan. If it's a rectangle with one corner "clipped", it's a 904. If it's fancier, it's a 727.
