I have a '72 Swinger with the bench seat. I have found a pair of '72 Duster bucket seats with tracks on Craig's List and wonder if they would fit with little to no modification? I was told that there should be "indents" in the floor pan that I should be able to drill out for the bucket seats installation. The current bench seat does need upholstering and I figured why not replace with buckets. Any help and advice would be most appreciated. The buckets have been for sale for quite awhile for $400.

My Duster has buckets, but all the holes for both bench and buckets were stamped open by the factory and plastic plugs filled the unused holes, so you probably won't have to do anything except pop the plugs out and put them in the bench seat holes.

They will bolt in with little work, HOWEVER, the factory also reinforced the extra bucket seat mounting points, so for safety's sake, you should, too.

These are available for that purpose:

Hey, I know those Rocket Restorations folks! Nice people! I might have to grab a pair of these in case I want to ditch the bench in my Valiant.

That would be extremely dangerous if the car was ever involved in an accident. The supports aren't there to just hold the seat. They're there to secure it during an impact. Please don't risk your life by taking the chance - there are few enough of us slanters as it is...
