I have a 2bbl intake and non cracked exhaust manifold in the shed. I rebuilt a BBD. Can I run this without the kick down linkage? Set the lever on the tranny to a "happy medium?" |

Not if you ever want the transmission to shift when it's supposed to, last like it's supposed to or perform well. |

I pretty much agree with Josh. But you can do it for a while with no ill effects as a stopgap. Just make sure it's high enough to give you somewhat of a crisp shift and not shift too early (20 MPH for 1-2, 30 MPH for 2-3 at least). LLou |

Yeah, the others are right. This can get you by for a short time while you collect pieces for a kickdown, but it is not a long-term fix. See this thread for kickdown options. |
