I have a 63 signet 200 225 AT. About a year ago I changed the fluid and filter and I am a little worried about having the newer filter in. Can this kill it? I don't drive a lot of miles. I also have a leak at the rear of the unit. Last weekend it was slow to go into gear, the level was low by a pint and that cleared it up I think. Should I put the old screen filter back in to be safe? The tranny has always worked fine, the fluid I did take out was dirty. Thanks! Foxden@aug.com |

If the filter used is called-out for the 60-65 "early" 904 (cable type with two internal pumps) then you should be fine. These early filters have two feed holes going into the valve body. If you installed a later filter, (only one feed hole) I would change it or at lease punch an extra hole to let fluid pass to the rear pump. DD Quote:
