I have heard the 265 HEMI E49 spec cam and it is beautiful! Can you use the 265 camshafts in the 225? If not, I think I would want a cam ground to these specs

SPECS : ** 256/246 DEG @ 50 ** .564/.545 LIFT ** 4000 - 7000 RPM

or is there a camshaft like this already available for the slant?

The cams do not interchange between the Hemi and the SL6.
You can have a cam grinder do a custom cam grind, using the specs listed.
Oh... look at that, it's an RDP cam design. :P :o

That's a lot of duration! I'd probably run about an 11:1 compression ratio, some pretty steep gears (4.10 or more) and a 3500+ stall torque converter.

If you don't want to get that crazy with the engine I'd go for about 235°/225° duration at .050" tappet rise and about 10:1 compression.

and it sounds like a v8 idling, its just so lopey, like its on steroids!

I thought it would be good for my blower set up with stock compression

Reverse dual pattern is the term for a cam with longer intake duration than exhaust.

so this would be a good cam for my blower setup, with roughly 8psi on stock compression?

No, too much duration and overlap.

BTW...that is MUCH larger cam then the E49 used...they where around .488 lift from memory.

I ran a .505 lift, 305 duration in my 265 and that was not too bad.

That cam is close to my '64 Dart cam (250 @ 0.050, 0.510"). I run about 10.5:1 comp and it works fine down to 2500 RPM and up to 6000. Drive it everywhere. The 225 can handle a lot of cam. Looks like that would work very well with 11:1, but not with a blower....

E49 cam spec was 232/232 deg. @ 50, .477"/.477" lift at 110 l/c, or at least that's the specs of the 'reproduction' E49 cams we grind.
