After replacing the points system with an electronic ignition, new NGK plugs, and Magnecor 8mm wires, my '72 Swinger ran way better, but still had a noticeable miss and fouling of #1 and 6 plug.

I timed the motor to 5 deg BTDC, and realized the vacuum advance was plugged into a T-fitting on the intake manifold, so I unplugged it and stuck it back on the 1920 Carb. The fast idle screw was way too far in, so I backed that off and adjusted the regular idle screw to about 700 rpm. It still felt like the odd misfire.

Checked the idle mixture screw and it was backed out about 5 turns, so I turned it in and back out about 2.5 turns and then adjusted for best idle.

She seems to be running great and I'll insure it tomorrow for a day or two and see how it is on the street, then get it aircared and finally get my collector plates :)

Man, it's relaxing to tinker with the old slant.
