The only way I can start my car is putting a screwdriver on the starter relay. Ive replaced the starter relay already and the first few days it started normally but now it wont start with just a turn of the ignition. What could be causing this? |

Ignition switch, neutral start switch, faulty wiring somewhere. Time to break out the test light and check for continuity. |

Start with the easiest to check first - test the neutral safety switch. Then check the wires that lead to it for melted, bare, or broken spots. Check all wires and connections to/from the starter relay. Last resort - ignition switch. |

This happened to me a week ago. After installing a radio and replacing some dodgy wiring the car just would not start. Only the way you discribe. It took me two long evenings under the dash with a flashlight to find out that some previous owner had installed a very small anti-theft switch under the steering collumn.
