Ok let's make this the place for updates and info on the Mason Dixon Race to be held in Hagerstown, Md. on May 30 & 31st

The track has a test & tune on Saturday and a gamblers race that is open to anyone. From the web site calendar it looks like the gates open at 10:00am and they run from 11-4:00pm. The Gamblers race will be at noon. $60 entry, electronics and non-electronics. The owner said they usually have between 15 and 25 cars for the Gamblers race, with 100% payback.

Sunday will be the Slant 6 shootout. It is a Mopar only event. Below is the times from their web Calendar.

Open 8 am
Show 9-3 pm
Drags 12 pm - til
Flea Market
9 am - 5 pm

The cost for the Slant 6 shootout is $30, with 100% payback from the track. If we have 10 cars, and it looks like we should, that is a $300 payout plus whatever some of us decide to kick in. Hopefully our payout will exceed $500. I plan to put up my set of 198 rods for sale on E-Bay and put all the proceeds into the purse in some way. Probably cash and a trophy for the winner of the event.

I know the flyer says possible Slant 6 drags, but we are definitely a go. Hopefully they will update their site to reflect that soon.

Rick,

Thanks for posting that. I edited your title, just to give info up front, hope that's OK...

I plan on going Saturday too, and maybe even getting up there Friday night.

I'm not 100% sure, but it appears likely I will be able to attend. I hope there is a good turnout.

Great to add you guys to the list. Keep passing the word around. And remember all you Southern boys, you don't even have to cross the Mason Dixon Line to get here! :D We would love to have you. Come on up !!

OK, The rods sold for $205.50, so that will all be going towards the purse and a trophy. I spoke to the purchaser on the phone today and invited him to come over to Mason Dixon for the race and he said he would try to come, so add him to the list.

Ken Mayer, New Jersey

Thanks ,
Rick Covalt

I spoke to the track owner by phone yesterday and verified a couple more things.

If you come to the track for the Saturday Test and tune it is $30. If you want to run the Gamblers race it is $60.

Overnight camping is Free. They only ask that all 4-wheelers and motorcycles/scooters be parked over night.

He thought he had already updated the web site calendar to reflect our race, but I check and it was not on there. I e-mail him last evening and asked him if he could add the Slant 6 shootout to the calendar. I got an e-mail today that said we were added.

Verified again that we can run our own ladder, and I got the name of the track official to give it too when we are ready.

Guess I better get that 1st place trophy ordered :D :D

Hear hear! Thanks, Rick!! Looks like our purse will be at least $800.

I have updated the "coming" list. Great info there from Rick. I will definitely be there Saturday and Sunday.
