Hello Racers,

Meril Bruner has spoken with Knoxville Dragway, and we can do a 2-day race (Fri night and Sat day) there either June 6-7 or July 4-5.

The earlier date is right after Hagerstown, but I am likely the only person that affects.

Please tell me your availability, and whether you want a 1 or 2 points races.

There are about 8 people local to the track, so it should be a good turnout. I will try to be there with 2 cars.

Thanks!

Lou

Lou the June race date looks good for the Ga. boys and a two race event looks good to. Thanks Ron Parker

Either date is fine with us. However if you want us at MD then the July date would be better. I dont know as the wallet could do 2 races back to back this early in the season.
Frank
PS we hope to bring 2 cars to all the races we attend this year.(fingers crosses)

Which 2? You have so many!

Knoxville is one of the three that I am planning my U.S. trip around, so I'll be interested to know how this turns out. Don't include my druthers in your decision on a date, but July would work best for me.

I'm looking at either Knoxville, Bristol or Clay City as my target date to come home for a "look see" at Fort Knox.

I vote for the June date and double points. The 4th of July weekend may not be good for some people. Heavy traffic and many people schedule family time that weekend. Either date will be back to back with another race Hagerstown or Wilkesboro. No more events than we have it would be nice to have a different date entirely and not have them back to back. Its difficult to travel two weekends in a row. Usually one race gets left out.
Thanks Ron Hamby

Given the response from the NC/GA boyz, who I'm pretty sure will come, and from Meril's urgings, I think we'll go with the June 6-7 dates and try a double points race.

July 4 will be tough for a lot of people too, as Ron H pointed out.

I'll call Meril and confirm.

Hopefully this one will be as awesome as last year!

Thanks,

Lou

Yes, definitely the race will be a 2 day race. One race Friday night (5th) and another race Saturday night (6th). Hope to see you there!

Yep, that's the track. About 90 min past Bristol. 1/8th mile track. Walking distance from Meril's or Gary's if you blow anything up! Pretty little spot.

They also allow camping on site. We did last year. You MUST have a helmet to race. There were no tech checks last year. GREAT little race track. Its HARD to find during the day and almost impossible to find at night. Merils is Easy to find day or night. IHRA rules track.
Just some notes from last year,
Frank

Anna and I are planning on attending the race(s)! Funds are tight with medical bills, but we might try camping at the track to mitigate costs.
