Hello everyone! I'm new to the site, (though i have known about it for years) and just had some questions about changing things about.
I have a 1983 Dodge Ram 4x4 with the 225 six. Currently, it has the single throat holly 1945/6145 carb on it. naturally, i have had hellish issues with the damn thing. however, while looking in a junk yard in Tulsa the short time i was there, i came across a 1977 slant six 2wd truck with a carter 2 barrel on it. naturally, the rest of the engine compartment was stripped, but i managed to get the carb and intake off it. Now i have a 2 barrel to replace the hellish single throat with. however, i dont know what else i would need. i noticed the throttle on the 2bbl is on the side of the carb, while the 1bbl has it in the back. the throttle return springs are in different places too. naturally, i am a bit lost.
Anyone ever do this sort of a swap before? or have pics of a carter 2bbl set up?
Luckily for me, my truck is a forest service special. no lean burn, no ac, nothing more then an engine and running gear hooked to a cab with tires. ^^

Next question though...do i need the throttle cable from a super six car? being that this is a conversion on a truck, and the link took me to a car conversion has me abit confused on things. the throttle cables arent the same in both cars and trucks are they? i wouldnt think so, but i may be wrong
