Slanted Sixers,

Here are more details on the the Knoxville, TN race.

Friday June 5, qualifying starts at 6 PM, racing starts around 8-9 PM. $40 for entry and all race fees. Purse will be $400-700.

Saturday June 6, qualifying starts around 3 PM, racing around 6 PM. Same entry fee. Purse will be $500-900. (Probably the Sat purse will be the bigger of the two.)

I spoke with Meril, and we decided to up the entry fees a little so that the purse would be bigger.

Camping is allowed at the track.

There is also a car show off exit 407 on I40 near the ballpark there on Saturday morning, so we may caravan over there to shock the locals with a bunch of Slant racecars.

Here's a start on a rollcall based on who I've talked to:

1) Meril Bruner
2) Gary Bruner
3) Ron Hamby
4) Ron Parker
5) Norm Foster
6) Seymour Pederson
7) Greg Ondayko
8 ) Rodney Hargis
9) Larry Chesney
10) Lou Madsen
11) Charlie Schmid
12) Leighton Drake
13) Brian Mimken
14) Derrick Daugherty
15) Frank and Cinda Brent

Maybes
16) Jim Cox?
17) Rodney's sister, or Alanna, or friend Wayne?
18 ) Lukus Bruner?
19) Curt from Roanoke?
20) Mark Charapich?
21) Judy Drake?
22) Dale Rose?
23) MikeH from TN?
24) Rug_Trucker from TN?
25) Meril's local buddy from last year?
26) Sam Daugherty?

Who else? My guess is we could end up with 20+ cars this year... :D

Thanks,

Lou

Derrick,

I knew I was forgetting some people - my apologies. Do you think Sam and Jody will make it?

Greg, looking forward to it...

Lou

30-40 mi. Meril might have a shortcut to make it 20 or so. Only 15-20 as the crow flies.

I am off that weekend. Probably will be home trying to assemble my Dart motor.

I might mention it to the GF. See what she thinks.

Rug,

You should really think about coming over for Friday night and/or Saturday afternoon/eve. If you really like your family, the Slanted family is just as nice and crazy like you are (about Slants)! The drag racing is only part of the fun.

Hope to see you there,

Lou

I may be swapping heads on a slant van. We'll see. Where's this track? East of Knoxville?

It looks like I have a side job to do Saturday. The work enviroment is very shakey right now. They asked me if I wanted to take a day off. Any extra $$$ right now is a must. I would defiantely need a motel as that is too long of a haul to turn around.

Thanks for the invite!

I did request off for the Huntsville show on the 20th.

Congrats to thew Rons!

Pics and videos to follow.

It was a great time hangin with all the southern racers again. and Meeting some of the other board members.

I also got me some Copper Head gaskets from Charrlie.

I think I put about 2000+ miles on the truck and trailer in the last 10 days but worth it!
