I can't make heads or tails of that large-diameter hardline connected to the intake manifold vacuum tap via…a filter or sensor or switch or somesuch. Way too big to be climate control, and these trucks didn't have vacuum-operated heaters anyhow. Truck doesn't have power brakes. Anyone got a clue?

It doesn't look stock, but it also looks like it is going down to the slave cylinder area. I used to own a 225 3 speed 66 D100. Does the slave cylinder have an assist?

Maybe its me, but it looks like the tube flattens out and passes under the upper bolt on the trannsmission side of the engine to transmission brace.

That is a funky throttle linkage too.

I've asked the seller for larger engine photos — don't imagine he'll send them, but we'll see.

Throttle linkage is funky but stock.

Truck has a 4-speed <i>manual</i> transmission. And no power brakes, according to the owner (who may not know correctly).

Mmm, veddy eeeenteresteenk. I believe you've nailed it — would be easy for an owner who doesn't know much about vehicles to miss these power brakes on a cursory underhood inspection.

Its easy for a daily driver of these vehicles to not notice the power brakes.....

I was tipped off by the Camper Special designation..

www.sweptline.org is a wealth of info on these.

The wife has a 66 D100 with a Volare front suspension.....

Power brakes was the first thing that popped into my pea brain too. Lots of old trucks had that stuff under the driver's floor. :shock:
