i was getting tired of riding with no tunes in my 82 d-100.the radio in it was a electronic unit that worked when it wanted to.i went back into my stash of old car stereos and all electronic tune had succumbed to georgia humidity and no longer functioned. :(
but all was not lost.last time i went junkyard crawling i had pulled a factory mechanical tune am/fm out of an 81 truck.i spent a few hours pulling the old stereo and sorting out the wires and testing the old stereo.....it worked left, right, front, rear, balance, fader, adjustable button set(although one is a bit crooked).a triumph for the old style engineering.
now i just have to figure out where to install a pair of front speakers, since this truck only has a single dash speaker up front.i have a speaker box behind the seat that is providing most of the sound right now. :)

You could run 2 smaller speakers in the location of the 1 speaker...........

Wouldn't get any stereo seperation, but you'd be running with the 2 speakers.............

http://www.slantsix.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=34200 These look cool. They probably won't fit your truck, but maybe you could use the same idea.
