Hello,

I have come across a 170 Block that has at least one freeze plug blown out of it and There is also a crack at the bottom of the water jacket along the Drivers side of the block.

Can hard block Seal p this problem say if 1/4 Inch of it was used to Seal the bottom of the waterjacket.


It would be nice to have the 170 Block But It's not work it if it's just scrap due to the Crack.

Grind a V shaped grove into the crack, break out the old gas torch and fill the grove with brazing rod. Should work just fine, by that is just my opinion...

No, water will seep past the Hard Block.

170 blocks aren't that rare, wait on a good one.

my machieist uses a tap and taperd screws and a little jb weld.
