 Post subject: porting question again

ok i was compairing my gasket on the intake to the head the head was dead on but...

and also yall said to do more pocket porting

I wouldn't port match the intake unless the head is opened up to the same size. A small step bigger going in the direction of the gases is not a bad thing. I would clean up imperfections like large casting bumps in the intake as far in as you can reach. By leaving the surface slightly rough it will help turbulate the air for better atomization, but heat is your best friend when running rich.

the intake ports on the head are mached with the gasket perfectly, but it was like that from the factory so should i port it

Sounds like some one already did some port work on the intakes on your head. Normally there are always irregularities and a mismatch. Since you are so fortunate, you can try and match the intake manifold. Use a real long reamer so you can go as far as you can inside the intake to create a very gradual taper. Just doing a bell mouth gasket match won't do a thing for the flow.
