| Post subject: | Looking for some Cheap 8 1/4 gears |
OK Its been quite a while since I've been on here.Lost my job and decided to open up my own shop ( and I thought building a slant was costly!)/Anyways I haven't been to the track yet but entered my car in 4 shows and left with 2 1st places (gotta love a slant).Well I got invited to participate in the Street Drags in Kingmond AZ next month( the guy who won it last year said I would be a shoe-in).They only run 300 feet and I really need a set of steep gears for that one.I have a 1976 8 1/4 with a Track Lock ,27 spline axels, slicks (26 in. tall),Cal Tracs but I need some better gears (I have 3.21 in it now, good for crusing but not racing).I looked at a new set but quit honestly I can't afford them.Anybody got some REAL STEEP ones they would like to get rid of.I can't pay a lot and they only have to last for a few runs. The car made a 400 mile round trip a few weeks ago and I was surprised nothing broke.Ever since I lost the motor I haven't had a lot of faith in the car.Buzzed the thing at 35-3700 RPMs for a long time and everything seemed good.Still fighting a rich condition with the carb but on full throttle and some RPMs it's good.I guess it's not a round town type of motor. So if anyone has some gears cheap let me know. The steeper the better.I want to attend and run the daylights out of it.Gonna spray it with 150 just to help out but if I can't get it out of the hole it won't do much good (I'm afraid to spray it 200,I know Slantzilla).Anyways it's nice to be back[<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/emptypockets/3846865692/" title="07282009 004 by empty pocket enterprises, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3436/3846865692_15cc1a4c2f_b.jpg" width="1024" height="768" alt="07282009 004" /></a><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/emptypockets/3549774056/" title="Volare Photos 007 by empty pocket enterprises, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3646/3549774056_5444ceecf4_b.jpg" width="1024" height="768" alt="Volare Photos 007" /></a><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/emptypockets/3367339275/" title="Volare Photos 018 by empty pocket enterprises, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3291/3367339275_4301398f3d_b.jpg" width="1024" height="768" alt="Volare Photos 018" /></a><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/emptypockets/3221779555/" title="Volare Photos 001 by empty pocket enterprises, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3262/3221779555_83e9a80b07_b.jpg" width="1024" height="768" alt="Volare Photos 001" /></a> |
