I'm suffering from search function overload so if this is an old question sorry
Ok inside my supersix intake is the hole(under carb area) where exhaust gas from EGR was introduced back to the intake. So the thing that's bugging me is what do we do with this hole? With EGR removed/blocked off it leaves a fairly big cavity to collect gas under floor of intake with nothing to push it out.I suppose that the suction of intake might draw anything out of said hole/cavity but just not sure.So am I just over thinking this?,not a big problem? There's no threads in it so threading cast intake for a plug just doesn't set right with me,I have visions of the intake craaaacckkkking  Thanks all

If it is an iron intake like mine threading for a plug was not a big deal. If it is an aluminum 2bbl then I am not sure. I got the idea of a plug from another post here a while back and my old school mechanic didn't seem to think it would hurt the manifold. I just ran a coarse thread tap through a few times and put in a pipe plug. There seemed to be lots of meat there so its shouldn't crack.

cheers

Brent

I JB Welded mine about 3 years ago. Still looks good today!

I made it into a small mountain with a rounded top.

JB Weld it is then 8) I'm thinking maybe to grind the raised area level with the floor of intake to smooth out the flow, what say you all?

Yes! as a matter of fact I have! :)

My single barrel intake is all aluminum. It seems to stick just fine and the gas does not soften it. I think the little JB Weld mountain/turtle helps to disperse the gas vapors.
