My coil is the stock 1.5 Ohm. I just want to use a single resistor but cannot determine, after 12 pages of searches, what I should use with this coil. I find a lot on the blaster II coils though. I find 1.2 and 1.8 ohm stuff at the local parts places. Not even finding much on internet searches. Someone stated that an internally resistant coil does not need an external resistor if the resistance is above 2.25. Could I just add a .75 ohms(2.25-1.50ohms) or higher to get in the ballpark?

A one ohm resistor should do fine. At least that's what Mancini Racing recommends.
I don't think I ever bothered to check mine when I was running that ignition and never had any problems.
