My Volare seems to be down on power after it's warmed up and when I accelerate. I've heard that an ignition coil can cause this when it gets hot. The coil that is in there now is one that I pulled off of some old Dodge or Plymouth years ago, it was sitting on a shelf in my garage.
Since I get a discount at O'Reilly's, I was thinking of swapping in a new coil, I figured that couldn't hurt.
Hmm, Borg Warner OEM type replacement, Accel, or MSD?
Lemme know pleez!

Thanks for the response. The Accel coil is about the same price as a Borg Warner OEM type coil, so I'll probably get an Accel coil.
Thanks for the FYI!

I've had 2 Accel chrome canister coils; both worked fine, but rusted very quickly (within 500 miles/1 year in a rarely driven show car). I've also seen a new yellow plastic Accel coil fry a couple of ignition modules in a row- apparently, it was arcing internally.

After ~100,000 miles coils can break down internally and give lots of odd problems, but still test fine w/ a DMM.
