Hello just joined I have a 1951 International pickup and I'm thinking about putting a 1978 Plymonth slant six in it. Did the slant six come with a ( brain/computer ) in it or not. :?: :?:

Thanks for the help,

Hello and welcome. Sounds like a fun project. Most late 70s slant six vehicles did not have a computer controlled ignition or carburetor, but some did. The good news is that it is actually quite simple to remove the computer controlled carburetor and ignition system and swap then to something else.

Try searching for "lean burn" and "hei swap".

'51 International, cool! 8)
I have a 1978 Plymouth Volare with a slant six. Mine has electronic ignition, but no computer. Like Reed said, most did not have one. If yours does, it's easy to get rid of.
Post some pics of your ride if you can!

The thing that bolts under the carb is the EGR. Just build a plate to cover and use the EGR gasket to seal it.
